SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of food compositions and relates to the food composition, especially to the infant formula milk. Use of food composition for the prevention of bacterial otitis, which comprises administering to the infant in need of such prevention the effective amount of the mentioned food composition, is proposed. Food composition is a ready-to-use product or a ready-to-use product, which is reconstituted with water from the manufactured powder, which contains a dry whey protein concentrate or milk proteins with a high phospholipid content and a high content of membranes of milk fat globule membranes (MFGM). Where the mentioned dry whey protein concentrate or milk proteins with a high phospholipid content and MFGM additionally contains one or more bioactive compounds, which are selected from the group consisting of lactoferrin, α-lactalbumin, butyrophylline, MUC1 (mucin 1), PAS6/7 (lactadherin), gangliosides, CD14, TLR1 and TLR4 (Toll-like receptors 1 and 4), IgG, cGMP (casein glycomacropeptide), sialic acid and phospholipids. Dry concentrate of whey protein or high-phospholipid milk proteins and MFGM contains at least 20 wt. % of phospholipids based on the total lipid content of the whey protein concentrate source or milk proteins, which are enriched with phospholipids.

EFFECT: invention allows to prevent or reduce the disease incidence of a child with bacterial otitis.
