FIELD: recycling and disposal of waste; nuclear physics and technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology of neutralizing liquid radioactive waste (LRW) by membrane sorption methods. Method for processing low-mineralized medium- and low-level LRW includes purification on mechanical and ultrafilters, desalination on reverse-osmosis filters and post-treatment on ion-exchange filters, reagent treatment of ion exchange resins with potassium ferrocyanide and cobalt salts followed by the use of processed ion exchange resins as a sorption prefilter and curing the resulting secondary radioactive waste by including Portland cement. Additionally, anion exchange resins are used which are treated with potassium permanganate and the resulting manganese dioxide selective sorbent is also used as a sorption prefilter. Before desalination of waste on reverse osmosis filters, they are subsequently cleaned in succession on both sorption prefilters installed in front of reverse osmosis filters.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase the efficiency of cleaning LRW from radioactive cobalt by increasing the strength of radionuclide fixation on the sorbent.
