FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the production of lime, which can be used for injection into a melt of liquid steel and hot metal, as well as for out-of-furnace treatment of iron and steel. Fluidized lime is described for steel and hot metal desulfurization, containing a particle size distribution of less than 100 microns, which includes CaO+MgO, SiO2, P, R2O3, hydrated moisture, and the loss of mass during calcination is no more than 3 %, while grinding and fluidization of lime occur simultaneously in a high-speed air stream in a centrifugal impact grinding mill.
EFFECT: proposed lime has a narrow fractional composition, an increased specific surface area of grains, fluidity during transportation, and a longer shelf life.
