SUBSTANCE: invention relates to high voltage cable plug (1) for installing on an end of high-voltage cable (20), wherein high-voltage cable plug (1) has insulating part (14) that can be attached to the end the high-voltage cable (20), the outer surface of which is cone-shaped at least in some sections and when making a plug-in connection, can form an electrically tight contact with socket part (2), which is the reciprocal to plug (1) of the high-voltage cable, wherein high-voltage cable plug (1) has protective element (40) at or near the end of the high-voltage cable plug facing socket part (2), which protective element protrudes sufficiently far radially with respect to its longitudinal axis (10) beyond the end of plug (1) of high-voltage cable facing socket part (2), so that when high-voltage cable plug (1) is inserted into socket part (2) and when it is withdrawn from socket part (2), due to protective element (40), damage to plug (1) of high-voltage cable or socket part (2) is prevented.

EFFECT: invention addresses the problem of providing a high-voltage cable connector for a power supply high-voltage cable, which can be connected and disconnected using little effort, while ensuring a high contact reliability and operational reliability and which, in particular, reliably prevents the risk of damage during connection to and disconnection from the associated socket element.
