FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, specifically to surgical instruments. Surgical instrument comprises an electromechanical stop, a drive motor; a drive element configured to be moved by the drive motor along a drive path between a home position and an end of stroke. End of stroke passes between a first position and a second position. Mechanical stop is disposed at or near the distal end of stroke and is structured to increase resistance to movement of the drive member along a drive path from a first position to a second position. Control system is configured to detect a current spike associated with the increased resistance, wherein power supply to the drive motor is interrupted when the control system detects a current spike. Mechanical stop further comprises: a stop configured to move from a first position to a second position and to contact the drive member in the first position; and a resistance member operatively connected to the stop and configured to increase the resistance to movement of the drive member from the first position to the second position.
EFFECT: invention improves the efficiency of surgical instruments.
