NEUROFEEDBACK SYSTEM Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC A61B5/482

Abstract RU 2669466 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medical equipment. Neurofeedback system comprises an electrode for contacting skin of a user for measuring a biofeedback signal of the user, processing unit for determining a signal characteristic representing a neurofeedback, for determining a biofeedback signal quality by extracting a measured signal feature of biofeedback signal , calculating a probability of a measurement error for the signal feature, wherein the probability represents the biofeedback signal quality, and providing feedback to the user, comprising the neurofeedback signal and a feedback about the biofeedback signal quality. Intensity of the feedback is based on the biofeedback signal quality. Neurofeedback is provided to the user as a graph over time on a display, or as color signals, or as audio signals. Measured biofeedback signal is segmented into time segments. Signal characteristic and/or the biofeedback signal quality are determined for each time segment independently. Feedback about the biofeedback signal quality is directly detected during a real-time neurofeedback session. Real-time information about signal quality is used to monitor the duration of the neurofeedback session.

EFFECT: achieved is reliable functioning of the neurofeedback system, eliminating the possibility of following erroneous neurofeedback operating in real time by the user.
