FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the synthesis of additive polymers based on dicyclopentadiene (DCPD) and can be used in various industries. Described is a method for producing additive polymers based on DCPD, which comprises mixing the solutions of three components of the catalyst system in an organic solvent, wherein the first component is a Pd- complex ([Pd]) with N-heterocyclic carbene ligand of general formula (NHC)Pd(Cl)Ln, where NHC – N-heterocyclic carbene ligand, L-cinnamyl, n=1, 2; second component according to the first embodiment, is boron ([B]), which is used as tetrakis[3,5-bis (trifluoromethyl)phenyl]sodium borate (Na+B[3,5-(CF3)2C6H3]4-) or, according to the second embodiment, is organoaluminum ([Al]) cocatalyst, which is MAO – [-Al(CH3)O-]n -polymethylaluminoxane, and the third component is organophosphorus ligand – [P]-tricyclohexylphosphine RSy3. Components of the catalyst system are mixed at molar ratios [Pd]:[B]:[P], equal 1:5:2, or [Pd]:[Al]:[P], equal 1:100–500:2. DCPD is polymerized at a temperature of 20–75 °C in air or in an inert atmosphere to form a polymerization mass, the polymer is isolated by washing in ethanol or another solvent, and dried.
EFFECT: wider range of used catalytic systems having high thermal stability, and reduced consumption of the catalytic system, the possibility of carrying out polymerization without using an inert atmosphere are provided.
