FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the synthesis of additive polymers based on norbornene containing a double bond in the substituent and can be used in various industries. Method for the preparation of additive polymers based on norbornene containing a double bond in the substituent involves mixing the solutions of the components of the catalytic system in an organic solvent, the Pd complex with an N-heterocyclic carbene ligand, [Pd], boron-organic cocatalyst – [B] and organophosphorus ligand – [P], the addition of norbornene selected from 5-ethylidene-2-norbornene ENB, 5-vinyl-2-norbornene VNB and 5-methylene-2-norbornene MNB. Additive polymerization is carried out at a temperature of 20–75 °C to form a polymerization mass. Polymer is then precipitated in ethanol and dried. As [P], tricyclohexylphosphine PCy3 is used, as [Pd] – palladium complex with an N-heterocyclic carbene ligand with the general formula (NHC)Pd(Cl)Ln, where NHC is an N-heterocyclic carbene ligand, L-cinnamyl or 3-chloropyridyl, n=1.2, with molar ratios [Pd]:[B]:[P] of 1:3–20:0.5–5.
EFFECT: ability to synthesize polymers with a wide range of molecular weights, the expanded range of catalytic systems used that have high thermal stability, and reduced consumption of the catalytic system, the possibility of polymerization without the use of inert atmosphere.
