FIELD: polymer chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: following is proposed: a one-component catalyst for the addition polymerization of cycloolefin based on a cationic complex of palladium with an allylic ligand with a weakly coordinated anion characterized by the following: the catalyst is a one-component cationic Pd complex with an N-heterocyclic carbene and allylic ligand, characterized by the general formula [(NHC)Pd(allyl)L]+A-, where NHC is an N-heterocyclic carbene ligand selected from the series SIMes (1,3-bis(mesityl)4,5-dihydroimidazol-2-ylidene), SIPr (1,3-bis(2,6-diisopropylphenyl)4,5-dihydroimidazol-2-ylidene); allyl - allylic ligand selected from the series allyl, 3-phenylallyl, 2-carboethoxyallyl; L is a labile ligand selected from the following series: CH2Cl2, CH3CN, CO; A- is a weakly coordinated anion selected from SbF6, B[3,5-(CP3)2C6H3]4. Also the following is proposed: the methods of producing a homopolymer by additive homopolymerization of a cycloolefin and a method of producing a block copolymer by additive catalytic copolymerization.
EFFECT: one-component catalyst for the addition polymerization of cycloolefin with improved catalytic activity, the ability to involve monomers — norbornene derivatives with polar and nonpolar groups — into addition polymerization, the ability to conduct controlled polymerization and obtain polymers with controlled molecular weight and obtain block copolymers that are thermally stable and capable of working in air and in non-absolute solvents.
