FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to paint and varnish coatings intended for protective and decorative finishing of internal and external surfaces of buildings and structures, allowing to protect objects from technogenic electromagnetic radiation. Silicate coating of increased durability is made of a composition of liquid glass with a mass fraction (17–43 %), Portland cement (40–56 %) and retarder (11–31 %). In addition, composition for the silicate coating may contain ultrafine additives (0–16 %). Method of preparing the silicate coating comprises mixing all the components in a certain proportion and a certain sequence and stirring for 3–5 minutes.
EFFECT: invention provides increase in lifecycle of the coating, gas and vapor permeability of the coating, while improving the processability of the manufacturing method.
