Method (200) comprises creating a random access preamble comprising a plurality of random access sequences (S210), division of the set of random access sequences by a certain number Nc groups, where each of the groups includes two or more random access sequences (S220), performing code division multiplexing with respect to groups of the plurality of random access sequences in the frequency domain based on the orthogonal coverage code selected for the terminal device from the predetermined plurality of codes (S230), and converting the signals after said multiplexing to a time domain (S240).
EFFECT: reducing phase noise and frequency error for higher carrier frequencies and reducing the complexity of hardware with multiple antennas when designing a random access preamble in a transmission subframe in a terminal device.
