SUBSTANCE: invention relates to turbine engines. Method for controlling at least one engine that comprises a compressor, a combustion chamber, a first and a second turbine downstream of the combustion chamber, a first rotating shaft rotatably supported with at least said compressor and said first turbine, a second rotating shaft rotatably supported with the second turbine, the second rotating shaft, however, can freely rotate relative to the first rotating shaft, includes a regulator for controlling the supply of fuel to the combustion chamber. This regulator cuts off the fuel supply to the combustion chamber if the frequency (N2) of rotation of said second rotating shaft exceeds a maximum threshold value (N2, max), which is changed as a function of at least one indicative physical parameter associated with the mechanical power extracted from the combustion gas by the second turbine.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase the efficiency of turbine engine regulation.
