FIELD: measurement; testing.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to determination of the quality of crimp connection of a conductor. Crimp connection measuring device comprises a signal processing unit, a ranging sensor arrangement based on using optical radiation and a moving mechanism that moves a formed crimp connection and the ranging sensor arrangement in relation to each other. Ranging sensor arrangement measures the distance between the ranging sensor arrangement and crimp connection while the ranging sensor arrangement and moving mechanism are moved in relation to each other. Signal processing unit generates surface profile data on the basis of the measured distances, uses the surface profile data of the crimp connection to determine the quality of the crimp connection, and displays data related to the crimp connection.

EFFECT: technical result is higher accuracy of measuring the crimp connections of conductors.
