SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway vehicles, and more particularly to braking transport systems. Railway braking system for a railway vehicle comprising brakes with at least one pad or at least one shoe (5), contains housing, service brake (6), lever brake drive (4) and parking brake (7). Service brake includes movable brake piston (8) defining, together with housing (2), service brake pressure chamber (13), receiving power from the first source of pneumatic pressure. Piston rod (21) is located in chamber (13) and is fixed to piston (32) side. Parking brake (7) is located in housing (2) and contains locking device (20) located in the chamber and made movable to act on the rod, and movable control device (23, 24) defining, together with housing (2), parking brake pressure chamber (25) receiving power from the second pressure source. Locking and control devices are designed to lock/unlock the rod in order to lock/unlock the piston.

EFFECT: reduced overall mass characteristics are achieved.
