SUBSTANCE: object of the invention is a braking system for a railway vehicle containing pads (16,17), each of which has at least one positioning element that provides mechanical fastening of pads in a predetermined position on the mentioned system relatively to vehicle disk (8), and a support surface for compressing the mentioned disk under the action of a drive of the mentioned system, and at least one return element (50) for removing the mentioned pads from the mentioned disk for its disinhibition, when the mentioned pads are released from the action of the mentioned drive; each pad has at least one fastening element made on the edge, while the mentioned return element has two opposite end legs connected to each other by an elastic section and mechanically fixed, each, in the mentioned fastening element, and the mentioned system is designed in such a way that the mentioned fastening elements and the mentioned end legs are at a distance from the mentioned at least one positioning element.

EFFECT: increase in the reliability of the braking system, simplicity and ease of use, efficiency.
