SUBSTANCE: object of the invention is a rail brake system for a rail vehicle, comprising a lever brake actuator and a service and/or parking brake, configured to act on at least one braking element of said rail vehicle through said lever brake actuator, which is equipped with at least one device (5) having at least one shoe holder (37) and at least one shoe (38) mechanically connected to said at least one shoe holder, and at least one lever (40) extending from said working and/or a parking brake before said device, characterized in that said at least one lever is mechanically connected to said at least one shoe holder on the attachment zone of the latter, which is opposite to said at least one shoe and which is at a distance not more than 35 mm from the transverse center the left axis of the said device.
