FIELD: transportation, packaging and storage of goods.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to spool fixation device for use in a supply or winding unit for conveying or processing a wire. Device comprises a rotatable flange for holding a spool with a spool flange. Spool flange is magnetically attractable. Said rotatable flange is provided with one or more magnet assemblies and said magnet assemblies are attached directionally compliant to said rotatable flange. Said one or more magnet assemblies can be selectively set to a 'hold' state for magnetically holding said spool flange to said rotatable flange or to a 'release' state for releasing said spool flange from said rotatable flange. Said magnet assemblies comprise permanent magnet arrays that are sealed from the outside by a housing. Wire winding installation is provided with at least one spool fixation device. Spool is suitable for use with the spool fixation device. Spool has at least one flange which has magnetic attraction. At least the areas of said flange with which the magnets are in contact are provided with an anti-slip coating.
EFFECT: simplification of the process of replacing the spool and avoiding the need to use a guide pin to transfer torque from the spool fixation device to the spool.
