FIELD: acoustics; data processing.

SUBSTANCE: using for the acoustic emission signals processing. Received from the acoustic emission (AE) sensors signal is passed through the digital bandpass filter, decomposing the signal into useful and noise components at different levels using the Wavelet filter, constructing the signal envelope with the aid of the Hilbert transform and subsequent smoothing by means of the average sliding function, performing the pulses detection with determination of the pulse initiation time (T), maximum amplitude (A), duration (τ), energy (P), entropy (E) and fractal dimension (D), constructing attractor and the wavelet scale gram, and the obtained pulses characteristics and the pulses themselves are recorded into the materials structural stability special database.

EFFECT: enabling possibility of the AE signal processing improvement, allowing to identify and classify pulses in the AE signal using the nonlinear dynamics and artificial intelligence approaches, and also to predict the materials structural stability.
