TRUNCATED TRANSLATING CONTACT LENS WITH OPTIMISED PERFORMANCE AND METHOD OF DESIGN Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC G02C7/04

Abstract RU 2671292 C2

FIELD: optics.

SUBSTANCE: truncated translating contact lens comprises an internal optical zone having first and second vision correction areas, and an external peripheral zone surrounding the internal optical zone and ensuring the translation of the lens on the eye. First vision correction area is located above the second vision correction area and is configured for correction of far vision, the second area is configured for correcting near vision. External peripheral zone has a lens parameter to achieve maximum displacement on the eye while maintaining comfort, which is the radius of curvature of the back surface having both the minimum and maximum radius of curvature. In the second embodiment, the external peripheral zone due to the change in the radius of curvature of the back surface has a variation of a variable thickness of 0.3 mm or less. In the third embodiment, the external peripheral zone further comprises lower, upper, and intermediate transition regions.

EFFECT: technical result is an increase in the level of comfort, an increase in the relative displacement of the lens and high quality for near and far vision.
