FIBROUS MATERIALS AND COMPOSITES Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC D06M13/00 D06M14/04 D06M15/05 D06M15/19 D06M15/33 D06N3/00 C08L97/02

Abstract RU 2671359 C9

FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a fibrous material and a method for its compaction. Method for densifying the fibrous material comprises adding to the fibrous material a binder with a glass transition temperature of less than 25 °C to obtain a combination of a fibrous material and a binder, pressing a combination of a fibrous material and a binder to produce a densified fibrous material having a bulk density that is at least about twice the bulk density of the fibrous material. Fibrous material prior to compaction has a bulk density of less than 0.15 g/cm3, which is determined by the ASTM D1895B method, and said fibrous material is obtained by cutting the fibrous raw material.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to obtain a densified fibrous material of the required density.
