FIELD: pharmaceuticals.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical-pharmaceutical industry, namely to method for producing an agent having a diuretic activity. Method consists in that the leaves of barren myrtle are extracted with 70 % ethyl alcohol, first performing two extractions at room temperature for 24 hours, and then when heated in a boiling water bath for 30 minutes; the combined recovery is evaporated in vacuo, mixed with silica gel in a ratio of the initial mass of the raw material and the sorbent 3:1, and dried in air; the dried powder is applied to a silica gel layer formed as a slurry in chloroform and subjected to chromatographic separation using chloroform mixtures and ethyl alcohol in a gradient mode, followed by separation from the fractions obtained by elution with a mixture of ethyl chloroform-ethyl alcohol -75:25 and 70:30, 1,3,6-trigalloylglucose – substances with diuretic activity.
EFFECT: above-described method allows to obtain a compound with a high diuretic activity.
