SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the chemical and pharmaceutical industry, in particular to a method for producing a substance having diuretic and antidepressant activity. Method of obtaining a substance with diuretic and antidepressant activity, with the preliminary production of water-alcohol extraction from hawthorn leaves using the method of column chromatography, wherein the extract is obtained from the leaves of the hawthorn blood-red with 70 % alcohol at a ratio of 1:7, the target substance is eluted with a mixture of chloroform – ethyl alcohol at a ratio of 85:15, further release of the substance is carried out after mixing the eluates containing 2''-O-rhamnoside vitexin evaporated under vacuum, with distilled water, heating, subsequent cooling for 2 hours and washing the precipitate formed with acetone.

EFFECT: substance obtained by the method described above has pronounced diuretic and antidepressant activity.
