FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the hydroconversion of a heavy hydrocarbon stock carried out in the presence of a catalyst dispersion, and can be used in the petroleum refining industry. Two installation options is proposed, including a catalyst precursor emulsion production unit, a heating and reaction unit, separation units, atmospheric and vacuum distillation, as well as a gas purification unit. When the first installation is in operation, an aqueous solution of the catalyst precursor and vacuum gas oil is supplied to the emulsion production unit, after being mixed with a part of the vacuum residue and raw materials, the emulsion is fed to the heating and reaction unit, which also supplies hydrogen-containing gas. Hydrogenation products are removed from the unit, separated in the separation unit to a gas sent for purification to the gas purification unit, and liquid products, from which, in the atmospheric distillation unit, hydrocarbon gas is released, which is supplied to the gas purification unit, gasoline and diesel fractions, which are discharged as products, and the atmospheric residue fed to the vacuum distillation unit, from which vacuum gas oil and a vacuum residue are withdrawn, a part of which is removed for the recovery of metals. Purified hydrocarbon gas and hydrogen-containing gas are removed from the gas purification unit. Operation of the second installation option is characterized by the supply of part of the atmospheric residue to the emulsion preparation unit.

EFFECT: increased yield of light fractions.
