FIELD: lighting.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a lighting system, to a switch for use in a lighting system. In the method, the result is achieved by the fact that lighting system (1) comprises lighting device (3) for emitting light in a high-power mode and to provide an additional function, such as a sensing function in the low-power mode, and switch (4) connecting the lighting device to power supply (2). Said switch switches between the high-power state in which higher power is supplied to the lighting device via the switch, which allows the lighting device to emit light in the high-power mode and which may be regarded as being an "ON" state, and a low-power state in which lower power is supplied to the lighting device through the switch that allows the lighting device to provide the additional function and which may be regarded as being an "OFF" state. Thus, for example, the sensing function can be provided, even if the switch is in its "OFF" state.
EFFECT: technical result is the expansion of the functionality of lighting systems.
