SUBSTANCE: invention claims devices and respective methods for the optimal expansion of the light efficiency range for solid-state light sources, in particular, for minimum lighting levels through a power converter comprising a phase detector, a data processing unit and a switch. The phase detector is designed to receive a voltage signal and to detect rising edges of voltage signal shapes. The data processing unit is designed to initiate the preset period of switching off in response to each detected rising edge. The switch is designed to supply a control signal, which deactivates the power converter within the switching off period stopping it from supplying power to the solid-state lighting unit within the above period.
EFFECT: expanding light efficiency range for solid-state light sources.
