SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of ferrous metallurgy, namely, to the composition of steels used in machine building and machine tool construction. Steel contains, wt. %: carbon 1.15–1.25; silicon 0.8–1.5; manganese 1.2–1.6; chromium 22.0–25.0; nickel 14.0–15.0; yttrium 0.1–0.15; neodymium or praseodymium 0.1–0.15; erbium 0.1–0.15; molybdenum 0.4–0.6; tantalum 0.2–0.4; phosphorus 0.2–0.3; tellurium 0.002–0.003; tin 0.002–0.003; barium 0.002–0.003; selenium 0.002–0.003; iron – the rest.
EFFECT: steel has high strength.
