FIELD: measurement.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for detecting fouling or ash deposits in a heat exchanger of a recovery boiler by sootblower elements. Detecting fouling of a heat exchanger of a recovery boiler includes emitting a spray of pressurized fluid from a nozzle of a sootblower element, when the nozzle is adjacent to a surface of the heat exchanger, and sensing a value indicative of a reactive force created by an impact of the pressurized fluid on the surface of the heat exchanger and translated back to the sootblower element through the spray of the pressurized fluid. There is also a system for detecting fouling of a heat exchanger of a recovery boiler and a non-transitory computer readable medium of a computer program for detecting fouling of a heat exchanger of a recovery boiler.
EFFECT: invention allows detecting the amount of fouling deposits based on a value indicative of a reactive force.
