SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of treating or preventing an eye disease, in particular leukoplakia, hyperemia and inflammation of the eyelids. Method of treating or preventing an eye disease, disorder or pathological condition in a patient is provided, the method comprising administering to a patient's eye a composition comprising a therapeutically effective amount of melanin for treating or preventing an eye disease, disorder or pathological condition where the eye disease, disorder or pathological condition is selected from the group consisting of leukoplakia, hyperemia and inflammation of the eyelids. Method of treating an eye disease, disorder or pathological condition in a patient is provided, the method comprising topical administration to the eye of a patient in need of treatment, a composition comprising a therapeutically effective amount of melanin for treating an eye disease, disorder or pathological condition where the eye disease, disorder or pathological condition is selected from the group consisting of leukoplakia, hyperemia and inflammation of the eyelids. Method of treating leukoplakia or hyperemia in a sick person is proposed, the method comprising topically administering to the eye of a patient in need of treatment an aqueous composition comprising a therapeutically effective amount of melanin for the treatment of leukoplakia or hyperemia.
EFFECT: above-described methods are effective for treating or preventing leukoplakia, hyperemia and inflammation of the eyelids.
