FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a process for separating impurities from crude propylene oxide (PO). Proposed method comprises a step in which crude PO is distilled in an extractive distillation zone with an aromatic hydrocarbon containing 6–12 carbon atoms. In this case, a distillate of high purity is obtained. According to the invention, heat is supplied to the distillation zone by a bottom reboiler and an intermediate reboiler, wherein the intermediate reboiler supplies heat at a lower temperature than the bottom reboiler. Process for producing PO is also described, according to which, from the PO obtained in an epoxidation stage, the impurities are separated in the manner described above.

EFFECT: energy saving during the production and purification of PO.
