FIELD: measurement; testing.

SUBSTANCE: proposed group of inventions refers to means for monitoring a circuit breaker. Method for monitoring the circuit breaker comprising a lever actuating mechanism includes the following steps: obtaining a characteristic force at a joint stop of said lever actuating mechanism for a time; and determining a point in time when the closing and / or opening of the circuit breaker occurs, by identifying the change in said force; wherein in the determining step a moment, when the characteristic force increase occurs as the closing time of the circuit breaker, is determined; and a moment when the characteristic force decreases as the opening time of the circuit breaker is determined. This method can be used for accurate continuous monitoring of the closing and opening time of the circuit breaker. This method is implemented using the appropriate device.

EFFECT: proposed inventions provide an increase in the accuracy and reliability of monitoring the circuit breaker.
