FIELD: radio engineering and communications.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to communication systems. Said inventions cause the Random Access Channel (RACH) to start requesting uplink resources through the random access channel to the scheduler of base station (600) based on the change in the status of terminal buffer (700) as compared to the buffer status report, BSR, stored in said terminal. In the first stage of the method, the status of the current contents of the terminal buffer, i.e. data of the terminal buffer is compared with the status of said stored buffer status report, BSR. And the second step of the method includes initiating the RACH procedure to indicate a service request to said scheduler of the base station after detecting a change in the status of the buffer in said comparison step. Service request includes a buffer status change pointer as a start signal for said scheduler to assign uplink resources to said terminal.

EFFECT: reducing the load in the communication channels.
