SUBSTANCE: invention relates to transmitting user equipment for transmitting data to receiving user equipment over a direct link connection in a communication system. Said transmitting user equipment requests resources for discovery transmission in the communication system and comprises a generating unit configured to generate a resource request message for allocating resources for discovery transmission. Said resource request message includes information regarding the amount of data to be transmitted and also information regarding discovery indication. Said transmitting user equipment includes a transmitting unit for transmitting a generated resource request message to the base station. And the receiving unit is adapted to receive a resource configuration message from the base station that distributes the requested resources for discovery transmission.
