FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measuring device (10) for measuring the volume of liquid contained in a container, the measuring device comprising: main container (12) for receiving fluid; control tank (14) whose volume is smaller than the volume of main container (12), main container (12) and control tank (14) being fluidly connected to each other as communicating vessels; pump (16) connected to main tank (12) and control tank (14) to extract liquid therefrom; minimum level sensor (26) configured to send pilot signal, if the minimum liquid level is reached in control tank (14); first valve (20, 20'), by means of which a fluid connection of control vessel (14) to pump (16) is provided and which is adapted to be closed, if the minimum liquid level is reached in control tank (14); control unit (30) that is connected to minimum level sensor (26, 26') and pump (16), and is configured to measure a control period between switching on pump (16) and receiving a pilot signal, wherein control unit (30) is further configured to calculate the volume of liquid in main container (12) and/or the total volume of the liquid in main container (12) and control tank (14) based on the control time and flow rate of pump (16).

EFFECT: device for measuring the volume of liquid is proposed.
