FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering and can be used as a protective and support shell primarily in fiber optic and electro-optical cables intended for internal and external laying (in the ground, in cable ducts, pipes and collectors, for air suspension). Cable sheath is made in the form of a coil of long-length bearing elements with the formation of a central longitudinal cavity. Long-length bearing elements have a shaped section (round, trapezoidal or Z-shaped) and are made of a polyolefin-class thermoplastic material, or thermoplastic elastomer, or fluoroplastic, or polyamide, continuously armored with low-density high-strength fibers – basalt, carbon, glass or para-aramid fibers.
EFFECT: invention provides for the creation of a structurally simple polymeric cable armored shell with high operational reliability.
