SUBSTANCE: invention relates generally to a latch system, and more particularly to a latch system for an upper luggage compartment in an aircraft. Latch system includes a button-blade unit, first latch unit, and first cable. Button-blade unit comprises a button movable between the starting position and the position for actuation. First latch includes a first tongue unit and first hook unit. First cable passes between the button-blade unit and the first latch unit. In this case, the button-blade and first hook parts are connected to one of the shelf and the upper body, and the first tongue unit is connected to the other of the shelf and the upper body. Moving the button from the initial position to the actuation position moves the first cable, thereby disengaging the first hook unit and the first tongue unit.

EFFECT: technical result is high safety of usage.
