SUBSTANCE: method for separating ethylbenzene from a mixture that contains C8 aromatic compounds is proposed, which includes: distilling a mixture that contains C8 aromatic compounds in the presence of an extracting agent; wherein the extracting agent contains a chlorinated aromatic compound and an organic compound selected from furandione derivatives and organic nitriles.
EFFECT: technical result is effective separation of ethylbenzene.
