FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a sealing composition comprising: a thiol-terminated polythioether prepolymer; and an antioxidant having a solubility in type I JRF, which is less or similar to that of pentaerythritol-tetrakis[3-(3,5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)propionate], where the thiol-terminated polythioether prepolymer contains a thiol-terminated polythioether having the structure of the formula (1): –R1–[–S–(CH2)2–O–[–R2–O–]m–(CH2)2–S–R1]n– (1), where each R1 is independently selected from C2-10-n-alkandiyl branched C3-6-alkandiyl, C6-8-cycloalkanediyl, C6-10-alkancycloalkanediyl, heterocycle and group –[(–CHR3–)p–X–]q–(CHR3)r–, where each R3 is selected from hydrogen and methyl; every R2 is independently selected from C2-10-n-alkandiyl branched C3-6-alkandiyl, C6-8-cycloalkanediyl, C6-14-alkancycloalkanediyl, heterocycle and group –[(–CH2–)p–X–]q–(CH2)r–; each X is selected independently from O, S, and –NR–, where R is selected from hydrogen and methyl; m ranges from 0 to 50; n is an integer from 1 to 60; p is an integer from 2 to 6; q is an integer from 1 to 5; and r is an integer from 2 to 10; or polythioether with terminal thiols of formula (2a), polythioether with terminal thiols of formula (2b) and their combination: HS–R1–[–S–(CH2)p–O–(R2–O)m–(CH2)2–S–R1–]n–SH (2a), {HS–R1–[–S–(CH2)p–O–(R2–O)m–(CH2)2–S–R1–]n–S–V′–}zB (2b), where each R1 is independently selected from C2-10-alkandiyl, C6-8-cycloalkanediyl, C6-14-alkancycloalkandiyl, C5-8-heterocycloalkandiyl and –[(–CHR3–)s–X–]q–(CHR3)r–, where s is an integer from 2 to 6; q is an integer from 1 to 5; r is an integer from 2 to 10; every R3 is independently selected from hydrogen and methyl; and each X is selected independently from –O–, –S– and –NR–, where R is selected from hydrogen and methyl; every R2 is independently selected from C2-10-alkandiyl, C6-8-cycloalkanediyl, C6-14-alkancycloalkandiyl and –[(–CHR3–)s–X–]q–(CHR3)r–, where s, q, r, R3 and X are such as defined for R1; m is an integer from 0 to 50; n is an integer from 1 to 60; p is an integer from 2 to 6; B means the core of a z-valent, polyfunctionalizing reagent B(–V)z, where z is an integer from 3 to 6; and each V means a group containing a terminal group that reacts with a thiol; and each –V′– originates from the –V reaction with a thiol. Also, a sealing compound comprising the above composition is described. Described is a cured sealant obtained using the above sealing compound. Described is a method for sealing one or more surfaces, including: applying the above sealing compound to one or more surfaces; and curing the sealing compound to seal one or more surfaces.

EFFECT: obtaining a sealant exhibiting increased integrity at elongation in case of high temperatures.
