SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a sulfur-containing adduct that is a Michael acceptor containing an adduct of formula (3) in the form of a polythioether, which is a Michael acceptor, an adduct of formula (3a) in the form of a polythioether, which is a Michael acceptor, and their combination: R6 -S -R1 -[ -S -(CH2)p -O -(R2 -O)m -(CH2)2 -S -R1 -]n -S -R6 (3); {R6 -S -R1 -[ -S -(CH2)p -O -(R2 -O)m -(CH2)2 -S -R1 -]n -S- V’ -}zB (3a), in which each R1 is independently selected from C2-10-alkanediyl, C6-8-cycloalkanediyl, C6-10-alkanecycloalkanediyl, C5-8-heterocycloalkanediyl and -[( -CHR3 -)s -X -]q -( -CHR3 -)r -, where s is an integer from 2 to 6; q is an integer from 1 to 5; r is an integer from 2 to 10; each R3 is independently selected from hydrogen and methyl; and each X is independently selected from -O -, -S - and –NR–, wherein R is selected from hydrogen and methyl; each R2 is independently selected from C1-10alkanediyl, C6-8-cycloalkanediyl, C6-14-alkanecycloalkanediyl and -[( -CHR3 -)s -X -]q -( -CHR3 -)r -, wherein s, q, r, R3 and X are as described for R1; m is an integer from 0 to 50; n is an integer from 1 to 60; p is an integer from 2 to 6; B is the nucleus of the z-valent, polyfunctionality-imparting reagent B(-V)z with terminal vinyl groups, in which z is an integer from 3 to 6; and each V is a group comprising a thiol-reactive group; and each -V' is obtained by the reaction of -V with thiol; and each R6 is independently a fragment containing a terminal 1-(ethylene-sulfonyl)-n-(vinylsulfonyl) alkanol group.

EFFECT: disclosed is the use of chemical compositions cured by Michael addition in the case of compositions containing sulfur-containing polymers such as polythioethers and polysulfides suitable for use as aerospace sealants.
