SUBSTANCE: unsaturated bioreactor and a method for producing hydrogen are proposed, as well as a means for producing hydrogen from carbon monoxide and water, where the agent is a solid carrier. Bioreactor contains CO feed system, H₂O feed system, wastewater recycling system, H₂ collection system, and also includes a solid phase, a water-containing liquid phase and containing H₂, CO and CO₂ gas phase, where the gas phase is evenly distributed throughout the bioreactor and its volume is from 20 to 80 % of the volume of the bioreactor. Moreover, the solid phase contains a porous solid support catalyzed by the reaction of water gas by microorganisms catalyzing the reaction of water gas. Method includes the supply of CO and H₂O to bioreactor, anaerobic biological conversion of CO and H₂O to hydrogen and carbon dioxide, collecting hydrogen and carbon dioxide. Solid carrier contains particles with a diameter of 0.1 to 10 mm, a spongy material with a pore size of 0.1 to 10 mm or filamentary material with an interfiber diameter of 0.1 to 10 mm, or a mixture thereof.

EFFECT: invention provides a high fermentation efficiency.
