SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a screw compressor element and a screw compressor. Screw compressor element (1) comprises housing (3) and two screw rotors (4a, 4b) that are rotatably mounted in housing (3) in double cylindrical chamber (2). Housing (3) is provided with inlet opening (13) on inlet side (5) of element (1). Inlet opening (13) extends in cylindrical walls (12) of chamber (2) such that at least one section (14) extends in an axial direction, and transverse section (15) connected thereto in the form of a strip that extends from section (14) on inlet side (5) to side (17) of section (14) in a direction transverse to the axial direction. Opening (13) in the plane of walls (12) of rotor chambers (9) is T-shaped or L-shaped. Branches of opening (13) are connected together by a triangular recess in wall (12).

EFFECT: group of inventions is aimed at increasing the efficiency of the compressor element and the screw compressor.
