SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to ophthalmology, and can be used to select the tactics of treatment of the initial stage of retinoblastoma in children. Perform optical coherence tomography (OCT), determine the size, localization of calcinates in the tissue of retinoblastoma. In the presence of single calcifications up to 3×4 microns at the level of middle sections of retinoblastoma or size 5×20 microns at the level of the middle and outer sections provide transpupillary thermotherapy. With calcinate of 6×21 microns and more at the level of the external departments perform brachytherapy.
EFFECT: method provides an increase in the effectiveness of treatment of retinoblastoma in children at the initial stage due to the determination of the size and localization of calcifications in the tumor using OCT.
