FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: spectral optical coherence tomography is conducted, assess the state of the macular zone and the optic disc area is assessed. With a thickness of the retinal nerve fibers peripapillary layer of 154 mcm or more; macula retina thickness of 211 mcm or more; presence of qualitative changes in the retina of macular and peripapillary zones in the form of hyperreflective round focuses and calcifications at the photoreceptor level, cystic retinal edema, disorganization of the retinal pigment epithelium, hyperreflectivity and sclerosing of choriocapillaries with atrophic choroidal foci, papillomacular fasciculus smoothing, and beak foveal form, a decrease in visual function is predicted for children with retinoblastoma at the background of systemic chemotherapy.
EFFECT: method allows to adequately assess the prognosis of visual functions in children with retinoblastoma at the background of systemic chemotherapy and, accordingly, take measures to prevent further impairment of visual functions.
