FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a catalyst composition for hydrotreating a hydrocarbon feedstock, a method for producing such a catalyst composition, and its use in a method for catalytic hydrotreating hydrocarbon feedstock. Catalyst composition comprises: a support material that includes either an active metal precursor or a metal component corresponding to a metal salt solution, as well as a heterocyclic additive. Heterocyclic additive is a heterocyclic compound that contains oxygen as a heteroatom in its ring to form a cyclic ester structure. Method of producing said composition comprises: incorporating a metal-containing solution into a support material to provide a support material with an incorporated metal; and incorporating the heterocyclic additive in the form of a heterocyclic compound into the said support material with incorporated metal to thereby provide an additive-impregnated composition sulphur.

EFFECT: catalyst composition is particularly suitable for denitration and desulphurisation of the raw distillate to produce diesel fuel with ultra-low content.
