FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of rejuvenating at least partially spent catalyst used in hydrotreating and/or hydrocracking. Said at least partially spent catalyst comes from fresh catalyst containing at least one metal of group VIII, at least one metal of group VIB, oxide substrate. Method includes the following stages: a) regeneration of at least partially spent catalyst in a gas stream containing oxygen, at temperature between 300 °C and 550 °C to obtain a regenerated catalyst, then b) contacting said regenerated catalyst with phosphoric acid and an organic acid selected from gluconic acid, γ-ketovaleric acid, lactic acid, ascorbic acid or succinic acid, c) carrying out a drying step at temperature below 200 °C without further calcination to obtain a rejuvenated catalyst. Invention also relates to use of the catalyst in the process of hydrotreating and/or hydrocracking hydrocarbon fractions.
EFFECT: disclosed method enables to restore sufficient catalytic activity.
