SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the field of external combustion engines, in particular, to the systems for driving a piston compressor with a Stirling engine. System for driving a piston compressor includes piston compressor (1) with crankshaft (31). Stirling engine (50) is drivingly connected to crankshaft (31) of piston compressor (1). Heat source (71), for example a waste heat source, provides heat to the hot end of the Stirling engine. Heat is partly converted into mechanical power to drive piston compressor (1). System comprises at least one additional drive (91; 97; 105) and connection (93; 107; 115) configured to transmit driving force between additional drive (91; 97; 105) and piston compressor (1) to provide additional energy for piston compressor (1) by means of additional drive (91; 97; 105).
EFFECT: technical result is higher reliability of the compressor drive.
