SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, computed tomographic diagnosis, and can be used in the diagnosis of diseases of the pancreas in the first phase of the disease (phase IA). X-ray multispiral computed tomography of the pancreas is performed, in which the splenic artery is identified. Area between the posterior surface of the body and the tail of the pancreas and the anterior semicircle of the splenic artery wall is examined. If a strip of low X-ray tissue is detected on a Hounsfield scale from -10 uN to 17 uN with a thickness of 2 mm or more in the transverse or longitudinal directions relative to the pancreas and a length of 5 mm in the area under investigation, acute pancreatitis is diagnosed.

EFFECT: method allows to diagnose acute pancreatitis in the IA phase of the disease, determining early extrapancreatic CT signs, to differentiate acute pancreatitis from a different pathology in conditions of shock, coma, combined organ damage.
