Access to the right retroperitoneal space of the recipient is provided with the isolation of the infrarenal part of the inferior vena cava and mobilization of the common iliac artery. A venous anastomosis is formed between the portal vein of the graft and the inferior vena cava of the recipient and the arterial anastomosis between the splenic artery of the graft and the common iliac artery of the recipient. The recipient's jejunum is divided distal to the duodenojejunal junction, followed by the removal of the recipient's small bowel loop, disconnected by Roux, into the retroperitoneal space. Duodenojejunostomy is formed and the parietal peritoneum is sutured to the loop of the small intestine with interrupted sutures.
