FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of metallurgy, in particular to a heat conductive piston ring for an internal combustion engine. Piston ring contains Mn-Cr steel as the base material and a layer of solid film of wear-resistant coating on the outer circumferential surface, and Mn-Cr steel includes, in wt. %: C from 0.52 to 0.65, Si from 0.15 to 0.35, Mn from 0.60 to 1.00, Cr from 0.60 to 1.00, P 0.04 or less, S 0.04 or less, a small amount of the components Al, Ni and Cu (total content) in the range from 0.05 to 3.0 wt. %, wherein the content of each of the components of Al, Ni and Cu ranges from 0.01 to 1.0, the balance is Fe and unavoidable impurities.
EFFECT: functions of gas-tight sealing and heat transfer over a long period of time are provided in a stable mode when used in a gasoline engine having a high compression ratio.
