FIELD: measurement technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for monitoring the electrophysical state of a cathode assembly of an aluminum cell. Method includes: measuring EMF using electromagnetic sensors, installed on each cathode blooms, and taking into account the known magnitude of the potline current strength of the series, determine the strength of current flowing through each bloom from the expression , where Iib – current magnitude, flowing through the i-th bloom, Ic – potline current , – total EMF of electromagnetic sensors installed on all 30 blooms, Eib – the EMF measured by an electromagnetic sensor on the i-th bloom, and by comparing the measured current magnitudes in each cathode bloom with the estimated current magnitude in the absence of (minimum and maximum value) accretion and in the presence of cakes on a bottom, the configuration and the area of accretion on the cathode are determined and a cathode block is fixed in the stage of destruction.
EFFECT: increase in the accuracy of monitoring the current magnitude flowing through each bloom of the cathode assembly, the possibility of timely detection of the unequal current distribution, degree of destruction of the cathode assembly and control of deviations of technological parameters from the given parameters and automation of the process of aluminum production from cryolite-alumina melts, more specifically to the automatic control of EMF components on the cathode bloom outputs, to assess the technological state of electrolysis baths and to develop regulatory impacts are provided.
