FIELD: measurement technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for determining the state of the fire-resistant lining of a vessel containing molten metal. During the process, performance data, production data and wall thickness are measured or determined at least in places with the highest degree of wear, as well as additional procedural parameters of the vessel after its use. Said data are then collected and stored in a data structure. Based on at least some of the measured or determined data or parameters, a mathematical model is created by which said data or parameters are estimated through calculations and subsequent analyses.
EFFECT: it is possible to carry out related or generalised processes of determination and subsequent analysis, thereby achieving optimisation both in relation to the vessel lining and in relation to the entire sequence of process operations on casting the molten mass into the vessel.
